The West Coast of Canada, where ISPA was founded, is one of the world's great cruising grounds and a region blessed with magnificent nature and rich culture. In order to enjoy and protect the environment of this wonderful area, it is necessary to acquire the correct knowledge and skills for action.

In recent years, through the efforts of many local people, Howe Sound near Vancouver, the most populated area in the region, has been selected as a Unesco Biosphere Region, which aims to maintain the symbiotic relationship between nature and humans.
